Production Method:The raw materials, Sappan wood and Tagua seeds, are sustainable sourced in Colombia. The Tagua Palm only grows in the northern region of the South American rainforest (mainly Colombia and Ecuador). When the fruit from the palm is ripe it falls to the ground releasing the fresh Tagua seeds (AKA Vegetable Ivory). At this point, the seeds are harvested and set out to dry for 6 to 9 months and then they become rock solid resembling ivory in color, texture, and hardness. At this point, the Tagua seeds are ready to be polished, dyed, cut and shaped into beautiful beads for our organic jewelry collection and natural wares and accessories like these beautiful wooden and vegetable ivory pipes :)
